40k Rulebook FAQ updated

Thanks to Adam @ Space Wolves Grey (He also runs Warhammer Tau) he's pointed out that the 40k Rulebook FAQ has been updated on the main GW website.

Here is a selection of some of the updates, the FAQ can be found here.

"Q: Can any embarked troops shoot out of a vehicle on the
turn it has used its smoke launchers? (p66)
A: No."
No more cheesetastic Spas Mareens being able to shoot out of the smoke from their Rhinos..

Q: Can a unit start the game embarked in a non-dedicated
transport vehicle? (p92)
A: Yes, as long as its unit type is allowed to embark onto
that vehicle and it does not exceed the transport capacity.
(Does this mean Firewarriors or Kroot can now start the Game in Pathfinder Devilfish?)

Q: Can a unit equipped with jet packs make its normal
move in the Assault phase if it arrived by Deep Strike that
turn? (p52)
A: Yes it can, unless it specifically states otherwise.
Remember that you cannot use this move to launch an
assault on the turn you arrived by deep striking.
This looks like a boost to Crisis Suits till you read the Codex.- "may be deployed using the Deep Strike special rules if the mission being played permits it (though he may not make the additional 6"move in the turn he arrives)

The last point means deep-striking drones can now jump afterwards. But the suits don't have that same luxury? Why? Seems crazy?

First one was always that way, as was much of the updates (only changes IIRC were Stealth and make-way for ICs in combat).

To the 2nd one, no. Dedicated transport rules disallow this.

Although it does mean that XV9s can use their jet packs after deepstriking. Time to break open that forgeworld order :)

The second one means for vehicles that are brought separate to a unit but have a transport capability. Such as land raiders from the heavy support category.

Now, because the Devilfish is still a dedicated transport for the Pathfinders.

It more applies to Space Marines or Eldar and just confirms that they can start the game embarked in transport vehicles bought as Heavy Support.
