Keith used another one of his "fun" lists. I can tell you that Nob Bikers are not a laughing matter!! He won deployment and set out his bikes on my right flank and Heavy Support (actually a unit of 2 and 1) on the opposite corner. 2 units of boys in the middle and the Kommando's, Gretchin and Storm Boyz in reserve.
I deployed the 2 Hammerheads opposite the bikes, with the Broadsides and a Deathrain team. I then wrapped them front back and side in Kroot Wrap.(™)
I'll be honest I'm not liking Kroot from 2 games played with them. They die far far to easily for my liking with their 0 save, but I'll stick with them for now.
I''ll try to get the match in as much detail, but instead of an instant report, I've been playing League of Legends all night, pew-pewing with Ashe so i'll do the best I can!
Bikers zip right across the board towards the Kroot, all Tau shoot at the bikers and do..1 wound. Next turn they assault the Kroot and wipe then out. The Kommando's turn up and assault the back Kroot Wrap.(™) killing 4. My turn 2 the Firestorms come in, Tau retaliate focus on the bikes and take out 4. The Hammerheads think "sod this" and split up, 1 goes up along the board edge with the other skimming along my edge.
Turn 3 all hell breaks loose.
Having broke the Kroot, Snikrot and his 2 boys prepare to assault the badly placed Firestorm Team. Old Zogwort's eyes light up as we whips his boys into chant of "Ere we go! Ere we go!" With a flash and a pop he moves his 30 boy unit about 30 inches cross board to right behind the Nob Biker! The Bikers spurned by the site of his friends then wipes out the Broadsides however a plucky shield drone inflicts a deadly wound! The Hammerheads keep moving along their edges, 1 of my Devilfish turn up with the other Deathrain team who drop down to take out the cannons at the back for an easy few kill points.
Turn 4 the madness continues...
Boss Zagstruck screams from the sky and drops down to engage the Firestorm Team and a Hammerhead with a split assault. A lone Ork forgets to trigger his landing thrusters and hits the ground with a splat! The Firestorm's joy of killing Snikrot is short lived as Zagstruck wipes then out and his boys immobilize the Hammerhead. Zogwort does a WAAAA to push his boys into the Deathrain team, who hold firm, taking a wound but giving 2 back.
Commander Longshot gives the order and the trap is sprung! (Turn 4 reserves FTL) He drops in with the remaining Devilfish who deploy their Fire Warriors, and then orders target priority on Boss Zagstruck. After a turn of shooting his whole unit is dead and he's down to 1 wound but the Psycho Ork Rocket Jockey is still standing! The left side Deathrain team finish off the last cannon for 2 cheeky kill points as the right side team get wiped out by the boys.
Going into turn 5, Keith has 5 Kill Points to my 3. I'm looking at loosing another 1 to Zagstruck but then gaining 1 for killing him.. "Yeah Gredus but what about the 3 you need to win?" Well you've won't believe this but I'll tell you anyway!
Zagstruck moves towards the Firewarriors sitting beside their tank with a manical look in his eye. Seeing this and worried that his "Boyz" are left out of the action, Zogwort's eyes light up with a familiar glow as he points to an area behind the 2 Devilfish. As the Boyz start up another chant of "Ere we go! Ere we go!" they disappear in a blinding flash... And are next seen fused at an atomic level to the ruin building diagonally behind the Devilfish. We both kill ourselves laughing at this misfortune. 2 kills points to the Tau and the game is now tied 5 to 5.
Zagstruck engages the Firewarriors, hoping that they don't die so he's not left at the mercy of the Tau guns. He only manages to kill 1 but the Tau sense victory and do the honourable thing... They fail their leadership test rolling a 10 and let Zagstruck cut them down, exposing him to Commander Longshot's Fireknife team! It's all down to this shooting phase (we agreed to end on turn 5 due to us both wanting to get home early)
Longshot waves to Zagstruck and the vape's him in a ball of plasma. The Hammerheads, Deathrain team and 1 Devilfish shoot the Loota's and Gretchin. All I need is 1 unit to die or break. With enough wounds on both, the grots roll a 4 and stay put. The Loota's however shit a brick and run for it, I get my last kill point as they're a broken unit at the end of the game below half strength!
It was a well fought battle that I though I'd lost on turn 3 and was even talking about playing for a draw! The teleporting boys really messed up my plan. It was an awesome match and was another lesson in target priority and what other armies can bring to the table. Dear Santa can I have a Tau CC unit like Ork Biker Nobz?

Nice battle report. It's fun to read with the lots of humor in it.
The pictures are cool but would you be able to get some photos of your game to make it easier for us to see what you are talking about?
Great work Gredus, a good battle for the Greater Good!
Nice one Gredus, great Battlerep. Took my mind off not being able to attend Gaelcon. Ah, there I go... off to paint some Harlies x)
Nice report Gredus, really well written. Looking forward to the next one.
