Tau v Nids.. For the greater...Food?!?

So yeah, short and sweet Monday night battle report tonight. I'm going off to play some Halo 3 in a minute to release some anger and the following short battle reports will explain why. I'm not actually angry, just really frustrated.  Swearing warning in the below posts as I'm venting a little.

Match 1, Tau vs Nids. -
Table Quarter Set up, Annihilation.
Result - Tau Commander gives up after turn 4.  Nid player wins 7 kills points to 1.

I was fucked from the start really. I had to deploy 18 inches (or make sure to be 18 inches away by turn 2) because of outflanking Genestealer. I had no screen and basically wasted 2 turns trying to shoot a screen wave of 30 gaunts with cover saves (most of the unit was always in cover) and feel no pain. The game hurt, I mean it really hurt and my dice rolls were terrible.  Lesser generals and kids would have gave up on Tau from that. Once again another hard lesson learned.

Match 2, Tau vs Mech Eldar
Table Quarter Set up again, and... Annihilation again!
Result - Match ends after turn 6. Eldar player wins 9 points 3.
Yeah, so lady luck decided tonight was her night off. I couldn't hit a barn door from 2 paces.  Another match of piss poor dice rolls and total breakdown of focused fire and target priority (Turn 3 was the first time I could shoot something, as I went first and Iggy's full army was in reserve. All 3 of my Rail guns missed their individual targets) Iggy pretty much tabled me in this match. I could tell he was feeling guilty but hey, thems the breaks and oh boy did he break my Tau!

Lessons Learned from tonight's match's.
I took the defeats tonight badly, I got whiny at just how bad at close combat Tau are, I blamed the dice, I blamed my unit choices, I blamed my lack of experience....
As Pat the Nid player said to me "It's only a game of toy soldiers"

Am I stopping with Tau....HELL NO!  Am I having a week off to gather my thoughts and paint some units.. Yeah I think so hehe! Oh god was tonight demoralising!

So, I'm assuming you were playing the 2000-point list posted earlier?

Nope, it was my 1500 list with no screen. I uh paid the price for that tactical blunder! It's a perfect example of "this is why you need a screen" ^^

Fair play. I've played Iggy's eldar. With a plague marine oblit spam list. I could hit his tanks, just not actually do anything to them because of his blasted forced rerolls.
