Army list

Here is what I'm thinking for my basic 1500 point army list.
I plan to get a list sorted and then play with it all year, hardly changing anything in it.
The twin-linked burst cannons is me being a little eccentric as I want to have a nice conversion and painting project making them look like the Heavy Arms from Gundam Wing!

I still have 190 points left, I'm considering another XV8 team with either Deathrain, Fireknife or Bladestorm loadouts.

- Tau Shasel
Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod, Multi Tracker, Hard Wired Drone Control w/ 2 x Shield Drones
- 2 x Shasvre Bodyguard

- Tau Shasel
Twin Linked Burst Cannon, Missile Pod, Multi Tracker,

3x Flamer, 3x Twin-linked Missile Pod

Hi,

Nice starting list, here are my quick thoughts:

1st HQ: Great, but consider a unit of 3 elite slot crisis suits with plamsa/missile/multi rather than the 2 bodyguards (22 pts extra)

2nd HQ: You can't hard-wire targeting arrays (I would normally suggest dropping one of the burst cannons, but that would ruin your planned conversion).

Devilfishs: If you upgrade them with Smart Missile Systems you might as well get +1 BS for 5 pts

Broadsides: It's essential that one of these is upgraded to a team leader and takes 2 shield drones.

For the spare pts I would recommend a hammerhead with railgun. A mobile railgun that can move to target side armour is great, and hammerheads absorb a lot of enemy firepower.

I'm looking forward to seeing how your Tau progress.

Aww nuts, this is what I get for being out the game for a full edition and not making regular lists.

I've got an upcoming 1500 point game against my mate with his Grey Knights.
It won't be perfect and will mainly be just what I have made up.

Just re-read the codex, I can't understand how I thought targeting array's could be hard wired. Going to re-do the list with models I currently have available to me (assembled at least)
